Praise for His Word

“For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.” -Hebrews 4:12 ESV

Thank You God that we have Your Word. Thank you that it is sharper than any two edged sword and pierces through my soul and spirit. I thank You for the gift of Your Word and acknowledge that not everyone has that privilege. I pray that each time I read Your word, I will actively engage in it and will feel Your Presence. There is always something new to learn when I read and scriptures that can transform my day and redirect my thoughts onto You.

I pray that I will not take Your Word for granted. I pray that I will always seek to know You more when I read. "As for what was sown on good soil, this is the one who hears the word and understands it. He indeed bears fruit and yields, in one case a hundredfold, in another sixty, and in another thirty." (Matthew 13:23) Always remind me that "All scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness." (2 Timothy 3:16) Remind me when I am tempted by the things of this world and my own fleshly desires that, "Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path." (Psalm 119:105) And remind me if I ever doubt your promises that, "The sum of your words is truth, and every one of your righteous rules endures forever." (Psalm 119:160)
